When is the best time to schedule my holiday light installation? 

Given the short and busy nature of the holiday season, it's best to schedule your installation as early as possible. This increases your chances of securing your preferred installation date. Our installations start in early October and run through late December. Early birds can take advantage of discounts, so don’t wait too long! 

Do your installers handle both the installation and removal of lights? 

Yes, indeed! We are committed to giving you a stunning holiday display without any of the hassle. We take care of everything, from sourcing materials to installing and removing the lights after the season ends. Light removal is included in our service, typically starting on January 2nd. No need to schedule an appointment for removal; we handle this based on your location to ensure everyone gets quick service. 

Are there any electrical requirements I should be aware of? 

In some cases, yes. First Response Illuminations is not responsible for issues related to inadequate, faulty, or overloaded electrical setups at your property. You may need to provide an indoor electrical connection or hire an electrician to meet the basic electrical requirements. 

Will my lights stay on 24/7 when they are up?

We offer the option of installing an outdoor timer. We highly recommend using a timer, as it can significantly reduce energy consumption and costs. 

What is different between First Response Illuminations' lights and those sold at big-box retail stores?

We're glad you asked because there is actually a significant difference! Our lights and decorations are designed to meet professional standards, featuring longer-lasting LED bulbs and greater flexibility since we design the display specifically for YOUR house. We also provide UL-rated outdoor extension cords, a variety of installation accessories that promote the least amount of damage possible to your property, and commercial-grade specialty decorations. Ask us about our wreaths and other decorations that we can provide!

I already have lights, can't you just use those?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the quality or longevity of lights we didn't supply or offer a warranty on them. We use only top-tier, commercial-grade, custom-to-your-house lights, and we pride ourselves in offering the best quality of product and service to our clients.

Okay, I'm ready to get some lights. When can I expect my installation?

We begin installations in October (we love our early birds. Ask how you can get a discount!) and continue until roughly mid to late December. While we do our best to accommodate all requests, booking early is best. Removals start on January 2nd and run through January 31st (or later if you want the holiday spirit to hang around just a little longer!).

I have a business, do you do commercial holiday lighting as well?

Absolutely! We’re equipped to handle all types of installations and will do our best to meet your specific needs. Reach out and lets get you a quote!

What happens if I have any issues with my lights?

Our installers are trained to prevent most issues, but if something does go wrong, our folks are available to fix the problem as quickly as possible. As our name suggests, we always pride ourselves on prompt service!

Oh no! My lights stopped working after a storm, what should I do?

A common cause for lights not working after rain is a tripped ground-fault circuit interrupter  (GFCI) outlet, a safety feature in your existing setup. Resetting a GFCI is simple: find the outlet that’s not working, ensure everything is dry, and press the reset button. If it doesn’t reset, the outlet may still detect moisture or need replacement. 

Aw man, one of my strands went out. What should I do?

Our commitment to you is prompt and reliable service. One of our lighting specialists will come out and replace any faulty strands at no cost. You can call us or use the Service Request form to have a lighting specialist come out and fix or replace the strand. Please note, First Response Illuminations is not liable for damage due to weather, natural events, or neglect. 

Why doesn't First Response Illuminations install or maintain incandescent lights?

At First Response Illuminations, we prioritize energy efficiency, safety, and longevity in all our holiday lighting solutions. For these reasons, we do not install or maintain incandescent bulbs. Here’s why:

• Energy Efficiency: Incandescent bulbs are significantly less energy-efficient compared to modern lighting options like LEDs. They consume much more electricity, which not only increases your energy costs but also has a greater environmental impact. Using only LED lights, we help our clients reduce their carbon footprint and save on their energy bills.

• Safety Concerns: Incandescent bulbs generate a substantial amount of heat, which can pose a fire risk, especially in outdoor settings where they may come into contact with dry leaves or other flammable materials. Additionally, many incandescent bulbs are actually made out of glass, potentially creating a safety hazard should one break. LEDs, in contrast, operate at much lower temperatures, significantly reducing the risk of fire or damage.

• Longevity and Reliability: Incandescent bulbs have a relatively short lifespan and are prone to frequent burnouts, leading to higher maintenance needs and more frequent replacements. LEDs are designed to last tens of thousands of hours, requiring less maintenance and fewer replacements over time. This reliability ensures that your holiday display remains bright and beautiful throughout the season.
